At The Nestlings, our children are deeply involved with the local community in a variety of meaningful ways. They help run our community allotment, growing fresh food not just for themselves but also for the local food hub. The children care for our chickens, collecting their eggs and sell them to their families. Their learning extends beyond the setting as they visit local shops, the post office, the churches and both older and younger members of the community, enjoying valuable two-way learning experiences along the way.

Throughout the year, the children take part in local traditions and celebrations, helping to bring the community together. They join in the summer church fete, light up the village at Clophill’s Christmas lights, perform in our community nativity productions and create things to sell at and also help to run our magical woodland walks for local families.
